• some tag-related fixes (non-unicode support, separators, dots and so on)
  • protection against endless ping-pongs due confirmation emails from some silly email servers

  • added support of “@” and “#” tags in the subject. For instance, you may add “@inbox #dev #something important” at the end of your original subj and uKeeper will preserve it. In fact, you can put such tags instead of original subject, because uKeeper will make its own subject from the page’s title and your tags.
  • added link to “mobilized” version via instapaper.

  • Improved page encoding detection for tricky links with potential conflicts between http header and page, lack of charset info and so on.

  • Unfortunately, Pocket API is not available anymore for public use. See https://getpocket.com/api/article for details. We have no choice but stop using Pocket API, effective immediately.
  • Our internal NICE mode is pretty much mature and has proven to work well and reliably. Most users choose this mode in ~90% of cases.

To address these issues we had to made a few adjustments:

  • drops.nice and drops.pocket retired, but still be working. In both cases it will return a NICE processed page.
  • The default email drops@ukeeper.com now works as NICE capturing
  • For cases where you have to have a FULL page, we have added a new drops.full@ukeeper.com email

We know, this can be confusing, but the bottom line is really simple: from now on uKeeper has two official emails only - default: drops@ukeeper.com for NICE capturing and drops.full@ukeeper.com for FULL capturing. At the same time, emails sent to the retired drops.pocket and drops.nice will be properly redirected internally to drops@ukeeper.com and will proceed in NICE mode.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

  • added original link to full version
  • added title to pocket and nice versions
  • internal optimizations, improved task manager
  • several protection against potential abuses

  • new email drops.nice@ukeeper.com making something between text-only (pocket) and full version.

  • New registration replaces previously defined forwarding email
  • Much faster incoming links scanning, sort of “real-time”
  • In cases, if page can’t be retrieved ukeeper sends just a link with an error message

  • Added proper processing of htmls pages
  • Added link to source for pocket version only
  • Improved processing of html special (escape) symbols
  • Better detection of charsets and support of non-unicode
  • Faster processing for pocket mode
  • More accurate title extraction.

  • Added text-only version by leveraging Pocket API.
  • Additional drops.pocket@ukeeper.com activated.
  • Also some minor improvements in registration’s backend storage.

We got Amazon’s blessing for heavy email activity! So, from now on uKeeper email will be running on AWS
